Sophie's Café - Restaurant in Berchtesgaden

We dined in this cozy restaurant in the evening. The dishes were delicious, the service top and the prices more than fair. We'll definitely be back on our next vacation!

Really good food! The price is very reasonable for the quality (e.g. lunch menu €9.90). I had a salmon cooked to perfection. The second time I had the chicken curry. Very cute place in the back with a nice garden!

Die Hauptspeise war gut, aber selbstgemachte Eistee war schlecht. The food is okay, but the iced tea was not good. It tastes like the taste has become fierce because the ice is melted in a lot of ice!?

Price performance can't be beat! Many thanks to the entire team for the great stay. Here the quality is consistent with what is offered. Fresh, local products. Absolute recommendation - we will be back.

We were here for 4 meals on 09/26/2020. The ambience may be very chic, but everything is very schischi and the prices are relatively high. you actually expect good or at least solid food. The soup I ordered was cold and therefore not a great pleasure. The large salad plate for almost 8 € would probably be the small side salad almost everywhere. Very overpriced and you have practically nothing on your plate, plus a lot of the obligatory 80s orange pieces ... well My husband and our friend had the schnitzel wienerart. Not only that it was really the simplest french fries as you know them from McDonalds (considering the price it should be a better tk product), these and the schnitzel were very salty. The pork schnitzel was very, very thin and therefore also very dry (thin would not be a problem with veal but it looks different with pork) My friend had the curry, she really made the best choice as this dish must have been very good. Positive is the coffee that is really good. In short ... the café looks from the outside as if it could do a lot, but the price-performance ratio is really out of proportion, unfortunately we fell on the nose here.

Impeccable service. Food was 10 out of 10. Same goes with their drinks. Wide variety to suit everyone. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, card payment is only possible from € 20. Since we only had a wine and an Aperol Spritz, we had to go to the bank first. Unfortunately, an exception was not possible. Drinks were delicious.

From the outside, the restaurant looks very classy and initially put us off. But then we came in and were impressed by the quality of the food. I had a surf and turf and the steak was medium and therefore butter tender as desired. For dessert there was a chocolate triology with a milk coffee. The milk came hot and frothed in an extra jug. We'd never seen it like this before, but we liked it. We also had a homemade iced tea to eat. This one was tasty and not as sweet as others. It was a nice evening with delicious food.

Anyone who visits Berchtesgaden should stop here once was very satisfied with my visit.

I liked Sophie's Café a lot. With a view of the Berchtesgaden spa garden, I ate well and drank a delicious beer from the local brewery. The service was friendly and hardworking. There was nothing - really nothing - to complain about. Unreservedly recommendable.

I can just recommend it. The staff is very friendly and courteous! The food is good and the location is stylish! I went there every day when I was in Berchtesgaden.

Our experience at Sophie’s Café was really excellent! From the warm welcome to the plate everything were awesome! We loved it cause it was not heavy German food, (but no worries if you still want schnitzel, they have it but in a more fancy way) services was fast, and all the waitresses got a good communication btw them. We went for dinner three nights in a row so yeah! Definitely loved it!

I thought it would be good, but once we got seated, a band started playing music SUPER loud and I could barely hear my self talk, it basically ruined the experience.

Chose this restaurant based upon other travelers’ reviews and it was simply excellent. Don’t expect heavy old-style German food here! Sophie’s Cafe delivers delicious and modern dishes artfully served in a very convenient location. We liked it so much we ate here twice in two days!

Very rarely do I award 5 stars. Here I would even award 6 stars, if it were possible. We ate the burger. Although not typically Bavarian, but extremely good. No aftertaste of preservatives, the meat is not dry and the bread roasted. Burger, as it must be. In addition there was a fine salad with a fruity dressing. The apricot cake baked with Butterstreusseln, almost as good as mine. A real dream. Unfortunately, but with co2-cream. But fresh cream. The service competent and friendly. Not only that, she was fast as well. Very nice we have sat out to the garden. The evening was great. I never thought I would eat so well there. Thank you.

Truly fantastic food for the price - the chef has a deft hand and a good palate for flavors. This qualifies as fine European fare (with some fusion) but at good value prices. You won't regret it! We had the Barbary duck and beef burger, and both were really good

Think Sophie's was newly opened when we were there. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was top notch! Loved that the outside seating was facing the inner part of the convention center overlooking a water feature and a small garden. Great place!
